Addressing Industry Challenges with Innovative Technologies

Climate change, urbanisation and increasing environmental pollution are posing major challenges for water utilities globally.

Leveraging advanced technology, we enable sustainable water supply and wastewater disposal. Our comprehensive approach addresses the complexities of modern water management, ensuing secure and reliable plant operation.

With a focus on efficiency and resilience, our solutions empower water utilities to adapt to evolving environmental and regulatory demands, safeguarding critical water supplies for communities and industry.

Technology Supporting Water Utilities

Motor Starting and Control

Providing motor control technology and support service for the most demanding low and medium voltage applications in the water and wastewater industry, CSE Uniserve integrates advanced variable speed drives and soft starters with proven supporting pump control applications that have serviced the industry for over 30 years. Our solutions offer a variety of unique starting and stopping curves, eliminating the water surge and “Hammer Effect” which may cause pipe damage in water systems. In addition, the Australian-made CSE Uniserve Liquid Resistance Starters ensure a gradual increase in pump speed, resulting in reduced hydraulic shock and pipe stress and lower energy consumption during startup; protecting the motor from damage due to sudden inrush currents across large pumping systems.

Power System Protection

CSE Uniserve ensures a stable and reliable power supply for plant and equipment through comprehensive power system protection and quality management. By monitoring voltage fluctuations, harmonics and other disturbances, we prevent equipment malfunctions, reduce downtime and enhance safety. Our solutions maintain power quality and power factor, ensuring reliable machinery operation. We also offer motor protection, control and monitoring for medium to large induction and synchronous motors, while our digital metering solutions enable efficient energy usage, optimising power consumption and cost-efficiency.

Remote Terminal Units and Advanced Automation

Remote Terminal Units (RTU’s), provide remote process automation and control, data logging, monitoring and management of critical water management equipment. Using a telemetry radio or broadband network, RTUs establish secure connections to field assets including pumps, valves, flow monitoring devices, and motor starters. These connections span broad areas, enabling centralised management and control from a single point. This system enhances operational efficiency, ensures reliable performance, and supports effective water management and treatment processes.

Critical Communications

We specialise in providing critical communications solutions for water utilities, enabling real-time monitoring of water quality, flow rates and system performance. Our integrated, scalable wireless network solutions facilitate efficient operation and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure, including water treatment plants, pumping stations and distribution networks. We offer a range of products, including switching and routing networks, LTE cellular broadband routers, licensed narrow band and high-performance unlicensed radios, as well as critical industrial high availability networking solutions.

Monitoring and Asset Management

CSE Uniserve’s solutions seamlessly integrate advanced monitoring and diagnostic technology to facilitate maintenance, ensure asset health and optimise operational performance. Our Dissolved Gas Analysis solutions deliver continuous online monitoring to provide real-time alerts of fast-evolving transformer faults, enabling system analysis and the identification of units that require repairs or replacements before potential failure.
