Fast-forward two decades, and CSE Uniserve has upheld and upscaled this localised, longstanding reputation; with the adage of significant service expansion into new industries and geographies, enabled by the backing of CSE Global.
CSE Uniserve (as we know it today) operates as Australia’s trusted name in power system protection, control, automation and monitoring, and motor control. Supported by a team of electrical engineers and technicians, the Company delivers comprehensive solutions to the power generation, transmission and distribution, renewables, mining and heavy industries, water utilities, and transport markets; and has done so since its very inception.
Although its offices are established in Australia and New Zealand, the Company is a globally recognised business that has undertaken international work in locations throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Of note, in recent years, the Company has grown to be entrusted with the design and deployment of Wide Area Monitoring (WAM), and Wide Area Control (WAC) schemes that help to improve the observability of the power system in transient timescales to improve efficiency and reliability, with a Tier 1 mining company and a major Power Transmission business in Australia.
On the topic of scale, growing business demand has empowered CSE Uniserve to realise its commitment to harnessing and mastering the latest innovative technologies from around the world; establishing a number of well-equipped testing laboratories for protection, automation and monitoring solutions.
But chief among the Company’s successes would undoubtedly be its people. With a collective team of over 100 staff, largely employed in highly specialised and technical roles, CSE Uniserve has carved out a very niche capability to deliver leading energy solutions that optimise operation, enhance asset performance and increase safety.
At the time of the acquisition in 2004, CSE commented that the decision to take on Uniserve was underpinned by its objective to ‘become a world-class industrial system group’ and that having ownership of the entity would better position it to ‘reach out to global customers requiring total integration services’.
This repositioning has been all but achieved. CSE Global’s Asia Pacific division (CSE) is now collectively regarded for its communications, security and energy capabilities, from site critical voice communications and software management systems to energy protection and asset monitoring.
Chief Executive Officer of CSE, Roy Rowe, commented, “With a unified focus on building a safer and more productive world through the integration of intelligent systems, the services that CSE Uniserve bring to the fore, have proven to be invaluable to our ongoing success.
CSE Uniserve has become a globally recognised operator. With productivity, worker safety, power optimisation, and equipment performance being ever-present needs, CSE Uniserve maintains a critical role across a variety of major industries.”
CSE Uniserve General Manager Tony Smoljko – who has held a senior position within the business for the better part of the last two decades – mirrors this sentiment today.
“The synergies between CSE and Uniserve at the time of the acquisition could not have been more complementary.
CSE Uniserve is proud to be aligned as a division of the greater CSE, with the autonomy to deliver integrated, scalable energy solutions.
From our foundations, through to now, CSE Uniserve’s growth trajectory has positioned us to handle major, world-class projects.”
